Madison Hagar, M.Ed.

Educational Therapist

In her previous career as a high school teacher, Madison had a 15-year-old student in her 9th grade World History class who was illiterate. This student could read and write her name, but that was it. She took notes in class that appeared perfect on paper, yet she was unable to read them back. Despite staying after school for extra help nearly every day, Madison realized she didn’t have the necessary skills to teach someone how to read from scratch.

That experience was heartbreaking—she saw a student in need but lacked the tools to help. It also left her frustrated, questioning how a child could reach the 9th grade without basic literacy skills. Determined to make a difference, Madison became a certified Orton-Gillingham teacher. Now, when she encounters a struggling reader, she has the knowledge and strategies to provide meaningful support.

Madison holds a B.A. in History and an M.Ed. from Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, as well as a Teacher of Orton-Gillingham Certificate from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In her free time, she enjoys reading and dancing.
