Karen Bowles, M.S. Ed.
Educational Therapist
Karen is a seasoned educator with thirty years of dedicated service, focusing on special education and response to intervention (RTI). She holds a non-categorical license for grades K-12 in the District of Columbia and is an Associate Member of the Association of Educational Therapists. Her commitment to professional development is reflected in her training, including Orton-Gillingham and Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS).
In the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), Karen served in various roles, including special education teacher, response to intervention (RTI) coach, and interventionist. From 2020 to June 2024, she worked as an interventionist at a public charter school in Washington, DC, supporting students in their academic development by addressing their individual learning needs.
Karen remains dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students who require additional support, utilizing various approaches to address their specific needs.
